Multimedia learning is to use vision and hearing to form new impacts, which helps memory. Sketchnotes is a very useful tool. In fact, I have been using it all the time. During my learning process, I will get used to using it to record key points and smudge colors. This behavior can deepen the impression and assist memory. I am used to memorizing by hand, and many people may be used to taking notes with a computer. Because I feel that in the process of handwriting, I can feel the freshness of the information and remember it. At the same time, it seems to be more memorable after handwriting. I’ve tried taking notes with a computer, but failed, it’s so distracting and overwhelming, I feel like a machine, just taking notes. At the same time, when I am reviewing, I will supplement my quick notes and draw key points with different colors. This process will help my secondary memory. When I recall notes again, I use colors and patterns to help me recall. In fact, this method was recommended to us by my teacher when I was in high school. At that time, there were many key points to be recorded. Using this method not only improves efficiency, but also makes people feel interesting.
Sketchnotes is a more scientific approach. Of course, this still depends on personal habits and hobbies. It can only be said that it is a good way of learning, and I can recommend everyone to try it. This is actually the same principle as the “Redundancy Principle, Coherence Principle, Signaling Principle, Contiguity Principle” we studied before.
So, I recommend everyone to try this method, I think it is very effective. The method I am used to when I usually study, make plans, and process information.
